 of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's The Magic Flute, complemented by a 59-minute CD featuring musical selection highlights from the opera, noted as to where the selections occur within the story, and a brief summary. An introduction provides a brief biography of Mozart and his composing of The Magic Flute. Handsome full-color illustrations on facing pages support the fairy tales This is a list of fairy tales, the dates of their earliest known printed version, the author and, if known, the collection of tales in which it was published. It should be noted, however, that not all stories listed below would be categorized as fairy tales by a strict definition  that are the literary and musical basis of the opera. This is a fine combination of visual art, literature and music at a very reasonable price. While the songs on the CD are sung in German, the music is universal and should be enjoyable and educational for all ages.
