The Louis Smadbeck Broker Recognition Award.For accomplishments in brokering and community service, this year's Louis Smadbeck Broker Recognition Award is presented to Paul J. Massey, Jr. Mr. Massey graduated with a B.A. in economics from Colgate University Colgate University Private university in Hamilton, N.Y. It was founded in 1819 as a Baptist-affiliated institution but became independent in 1928. It offers primarily a liberal arts curriculum for undergraduates, with some master's degree programs in arts and teaching. . He began his career as head of the market research department at Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Services in midtown Manhattan, then moved over to the firm's investment sales division. Mr. Massey went on to found Massey Knakal Realty Services with partner Robert Knakal, whom he met at Coldwell Banker. The company went on to become New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of City's largest investment property sales brokerage firm and grew to employ 100 sales professionals while serving 200,000 property owners. Ranked New York's #1 sales company by Co-Star Group, Massey Knakal earns more than $1 billion in annual sales and is one of the nation's largest privately owned real estate brokerage firms. Mr. Massey is the Chairman of the Commercial Board of Directors of REBNY REBNY Real Estate Board of New York and also sits on REBNY's Commercial Brokerage Board of Directors, Ethics and Business Practice Subcommittee and The Interfirm Forum (Residential), the Sales Brokers Sub-Committee and The Retail Stores Sub-Committee. In addition, he is a Real Estate Institute Faculty Member at New York University New York University, mainly in New York City; coeducational; chartered 1831, opened 1832 as the Univ. of the City of New York, renamed 1896.
