This factual account of the search for a missing painting by Caravaggio reads like fiction, with enough suspense SUSPENSE. His narration lends the sense of mystery and suspense one would expect to find in a novel; I had to keep reminding myself this all actually happened. A nice interview with the author at the conclusion of the book provides information about how and why he decided to write about the search, how he wrote the dialog and other topics.
