The Kenneth R. Gerrety Humanitarian Award.

Arnold Fisher is this year's recipient for The Kenneth R. Gerrety Humanitarian Award for the generosity and effectiveness of his philanthropic and civic duties.

Mr. Fisher is one of four senior partners at Fisher Brothers and has been responsible for the construction of a number of important commercial properties such as 299 Park Ave, 605 Third Ave, 1185 Avenue of the Americas, One Bankers Trust Plaza and Park Avenue Plaza.

In May 2003 Mr. Fisher became the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Intrepid Museum Foundation, a leader in providing support for America's Armed Forces and operator of the largest maritime museum.

He is also vice chairman of the Fisher House Foundation, a charity which constructs homes to house families of hospitalized military personnel and veterans, and is spearheading the efforts of the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, which provides contributions to the spouses and children of military personnel that have died in the line of duty.

In 2005, Mr. Fisher became an Honorary Knight of the British Empire in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the welfare of the families of British Armed Forces personnel killed in the line of duty. He is also involved in the Veterans Bedside Network and the Vietnam Memorial in Westchester.

The Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Disease Research Foundation serves as the nexus for the scientific laboratories of the Fisher Center at The Rockefeller University.

The Foundation is dedicated to attacking the scourge of Alzheimer's disease with a three-pronged assault focused on Cause, Care and Cure.

It sets out to understand the cause of Alzheimer's disease in order to better treat and even prevent the illness;

Improve the care of people living with the disease to enhance their quality of life and that of their caregivers and families; and

Find a cure for this devastating disease.

The Kenneth R. Gerrety Humanitarian Award celebrates the memory of Mr. Gerrty who served with distinction as REBNY's executive vice president for many years and gave valuable community service to his hometown of Garden City, New York.
