The KM2000 makes a point.
Chosen by the Bundeswehr as the Infantry Knife of theGerman Army,
the KM2000 from Eickhorn combines a 440A stainless steel blade with a 30
per cent glass fibre reinforced polyamide handle for a tool that is a
tough customer for field and urban operations. Manufactured to US
MIL-SPECs and Nato standards, the KM2000 combines a heavy, full-tang
working knife with prying and chiselling capabilities and other features
resulting in a solid, fungus and NBC resistant fighting knife with a 172
mm blade. Eickhorn's KM2000 was chosen for the German Army from a
field of 19 competitors for its design, combination of functions, its
variability and the flexibility of the scabbard and textile attachment
system. Deliveries of the knives are scheduled to have been completed by
the time these lines are read.
