Originally in Brooklyn, the school moved to its present location in 1929 and in 1963 achieved university status. in Garden City, on Long Island. In addition to his career in title insurance, he was the owner/operator of a popular Italian restaurant, Benevento's, in North Syracuse, N.Y., for more than a decade.
