Gujarat Urban Development Corporation (GUDC) was formed with the objective of facilitating urban development by supporting state government and existing agencies in formulation of policy, institutional capacity building and project implementation, and to assist in the funding and implementation of projects.

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is a joint venture of Gover-nment of India and Gover-nment of Karnataka. It is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) formed with the motive of implementing the Bangalore Metro Rail system. The system is under-construction mass-transit rail system for the city of Bangalore, India. Navayuga Engineering has been awarded the contract to construct Reach 1 on the East-West line Navayuga Engineering (NECL), incorporated in 1986, is the flagship entity of the Navayuga group. NECL, a multidisciplinary engineering and construction company has several turnkey projects and infrastructure facilities to its credit. Construction on Reach-1 of the Bangalore Metro Rail project between MG Road and Baiyyappanahalli commenced in 2007 and the work on Phase-1 of the Bangalore Metro is slated for completion by 2012. The first line is scheduled to open in December 2011.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) came into being for the purpose of implementing and subsequently operating the Delhi Metro Rail. DMRC constitutes of participation from Government of India (GoI) and Government of National Capital Territory (GNCTD) of Delhi. The first section of the Delhi Metro was opened on December 24, 2002. however, the opening of Line -3 (Barakhamba Road - Indraprastha Extension ) on 11th Nov 2006 marked the successful completion of Delhi Metro project's Phase-I. Delhi Metro Rail has the distinction of being the second underground rapid transit system in India, after Kolkata and comprises elevated, at-grade and underground lines. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation also has lined up further development and expansion of the metro through Phase II and Phase III. Phase II comprises 128 km of route length and 79 stations, and is presently under construction. The first section opened in June 2008 and the entire phase is slated for completion in 2010. Phase III (112 km) and IV (108.5 km) are also planned to be completed by 2015 and 2020 respectively, with the network spanning 413.8 km.

L&T Urban Infrastructure Limited - L&T UIL is a subsidiary company of L&T-IDPL and is formed to develop and promote most modern residential and commercial infrastructure facilities including IT Parks in all leading cities and metros in India.

Reliance Infrastructure

Reliance Infrastructure Ltd is a major private sector enterprise in power utility. It is also one of the largest players in many other infrastructure sectors of India which includes roads, urban infrastructure like MRTS, sealink and airports, specialty real estate such as business districts, trade towers, convention centre and SEZ which includes IT and ITES SEZ and non IT SEZ as well as free trade zones. Mumbai metro is one of its prestigious projects in urban infrastructure. Mumbai Metro One Private Limited is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) incorporated to implement the Versova-Andheri- Ghatkopar (VAG) Metro corridor in Mumbai. It is a JV between Reliance Infrastructure, Veolia Transport, France and MMRDA. The construction on this began on February 8, 2008 and financial closure for the project has been achieved on October 3, 2008.

Housing and Urban Development Corporation 

Incorporated in 1970, the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd (HUDCO) is a fully owned enterprise of the Government of India. It was formed with the motive of providing long-term finance for construction of houses, undertaking urban development programmes and infrastructure facilities. Thus HUDCO India is an endeavour to assist various agencies and authorities in upgrading the housing conditions in the country. Special emphasis is laid on the development of housing facilities o for the lower income group (LIG) and the economically weaker sections (EWS) of the society. However HUDCO is not concerned just with housing development but the overall infrastructure development assistance. The activity areas of HUDCO also include financial services, building technology, research and training capacity as well as consultancy services. It is engaged in several initiatives of which JNNURM, an initiative to encourage creation of financially sustainable inclusive cities is the most popular. HUDCO had 16186 schemes sanctioned as on 31st March 2009, of which 13631 have been completed. The total project costs of HUDCO initiatives amount to Rs 383213 crore.
