 signed a contract today for the Materials and Procurement Systems suite of its PASSPORT Software Solutions.

Scope of the contract included a corporate license for Inventory Management, Contract Management, Accounts Payable, Material Safety Data and other related applications. In addition to business systems, The Indus Group's ABACUS implementation tools and methodology will play a strategic role in the "performance delivery" aspects of implementing enterprise-wide software and business process improvement across Cinergy over the next 12 months.

PASSPORT will be used throughout Cinergy's corporate and satellite offices across Southern Indiana Southern Indiana, in the United States, is notable because it is culturally distinct from the rest of the state. The area's geography has led to a blend of Northern and Southern culture that is not found in the rest of Indiana. , Ohio and Northern Kentucky. The scope of business process improvement exercises will include examining virtually all procurement and warehousing operations affecting the more than 7000 employees at Cinergy. The outcome will be a streamlined supply cycle workflow and an efficient enterprise-wide information resource employing new state-of-the-art electronic commerce capabilities designed to retire older standalone systems.

Cinergy is a significant account for The Indus Group since it represents an enterprise-wide supply chain implementation and PASSPORT's selection was made over SAP and several other software vendors in this market space. The PASSPORT user population at Cinergy is expected to exceed 2,200 employees and suppliers.
