The Honorable Colin L. Powell, IDEO's Tom Kelley and Inventor Ray Kurzweil Join RSA(R) Conference 2007 Line Up.

SAN MATEO, Calif. -- RSA([R]) Conference today announced that General Colin Powell, IDEO's Tom Kelley, and Inventor Ray Kurzweil will be featured keynote speakers at the Feb. 5-9, 2007 event taking place at The Moscone Center in San Francisco. The inclusion of these speakers rounds out the event's already impressive lineup announced last month.

General Colin Powell

Colin L. Powell was nominated by President Bush on December 16, 2000 as Secretary of State. After being unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate, he was sworn in as the 65th Secretary of State on January 20, 2001. Prior to his appointment, General Powell was the chairman of America's Promise - The Alliance for Youth, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to mobilizing people from every sector of American life to build the character and competence of young people. Following his retirement, General Powell wrote his best-selling autobiography, "My American Journey," which was published in 1995. Additionally, he has pursued a career as a public speaker, addressing audiences across the country and abroad.

Tom Kelley, General Manager, IDEO

Tom Kelley knows how to foster a culture of creativity and develop processes for continuous innovation. Tom is the general manager of IDEO, the widely admired design and development firm that brought us the Apple mouse, the Palm V and hundreds of other cutting edge products and services. Ray Kurzweil, Inventor

Ray Kurzweil has been described as "the restless genius" by the Wall Street Journal, and "the ultimate thinking machine" by Forbes. As one of the leading inventors of our time, he received the National Medal of Technology presented by President Clinton in 1999, the $500,000 MIT-Lemelson Prize, and was inducted into the Inventor's Hall of Fame in 2002. He has received 13 honorary Doctorates and has written five books, four of which have been national best sellers including, "The Age of Intelligent Machines," "The Age of Spiritual Machines," and "Fantastic Voyage: Live Long Enough to Live Forever." Kurzweil's latest book, "The Singularity is Near" was a New York Times best seller.
