The Greening of Conservative America.

John R. E. Bliese. Boulder, Colorado: Westview Press, 2001. (800) 386-5656. 5500 Central Avenue, Boulder, CO 80301. www.westviewpress.com. 232 pp. $33.00 Hardbound. $27.00 Softbound.

The Greening of Conservative America contends that the adherents to any well-considered conservative political philosophy should, on first principles, support conservation and environment policies. Bliese illustrates how environmental protection policies benefit business by stimulating greater efficiency and innovation and by spurring the creation of green products and services for new markets around the globe. Additionally, Bliese criticizes "free-market environmentalism" and calls conservatives back to their root principles on matters of the environment.

John R. E. Bliese is Associate Professor of Communication Studies at Texas Tech University.
