Boise is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Idaho. It is the county seat of Ada County and the principal city of the Boise metropolitan area.
, under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, provides a suite of standards for environmentally sustainable construction.  (LEED) Green Building Rating System for New Construction and Major Renovations. The renovated warehouse adapted for office use in downtown Boise is the first building in Idaho to achieve LEED-NC Certification.

Located in downtown Boise, the Front 5 Building was originally built in the 1970s. The team of Oaas Laney LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.

, cole + poe architects and Petra Inc., transformed the 16,500-square-foot warehouse into office space.

Some of the green building features that earned the structure its certification include:

* Building reuse reuse - Using code developed for one application program in another application. Traditionally achieved using program libraries. Object-oriented programming offers reusability of code via its techniques of inheritance and genericity.  of 76 percent of the building shell

* Large windows to provide natural daylight

* Extensive use of construction materials with recycled content, such as cocoon cocoon: see pupa.  insulation made up of 80 percent post-consumer content, tile with 50 percent post-industrial content and carpet with 10 percent post-industrial content

The Front 5 Building is the second LEED Certified building in Idaho after the Ada County Courthouse and Administration Building, which was certified using LEED for Existing Buildings.
