J From KLIATT's book review, Sept. 2002: "... in Liverpool, 13-year-old Tom has grown up accustomed to fending for himself in a series of awful foster homes. This story of accidental time travel, historical events, and risky adventure will appeal to younger teens, especially with Irish actor Doyle's outstanding, gently accented reading. His Liverpool accent is dead on, as are his Irish working-class accents. The reading is clear and will pose no problems for American listeners of any age. |
