The Fountain of Youth from Outstanding Nourishment


Individuals have long searched for the elusive fountain of youth. Many have longed for the marvel treatment that would cut short all of the inherent decline of aging. It may be unexpected to some but the fact is that we have had it all along.

If you want to slow down the predictable declines that are linked with aging, you need to look no further than your local supermarket, health food store or farmers market. Current exploration is constantly proving that as much as 85% of all age-related illnesses can be deferred or entirely avoided through the consumption of an excellent food intake of high food.

Most of the eminent superfoods that can prevent aging problems are foods that people have been consuming for ages. Some of them have a colorful history, as they have been staple items in certain parts of the world and one of these foods at one time was generally avoided because it was assumed to be fatal.

Berries are one of the healthiest foods found in nature. Berries are excessive in a plant-based flavonoid called anthocyanins. Tomatoes are high in nutrients that can prevent the weakening of aging. Tomatoes are abounding in lycopene, which is a vigorous antioxidant. Lycopene assists in the avoidance of heart disease by defending the blood vessels from oxidative damage. Lycopene has also been demonstrated to preclude certain types of cancer, including lung cancer and prostate cancer. Shockingly, the tomato is in reality more nutritious when it is processed and heated, such as in spaghetti sauce, than when it is raw. Adding a healthy fat such as olive oil also boosts the nourishment because it is fat-soluble.

The tomato has an interesting saga as back in the 1500''s most Europeans thought that the tomato was noxious because most of the flatware at the time was made out of pewter, which has a high lead contents. High acid foods such as the tomato would cause lead to leech out into the food, which resulted in lead poisoning and fatality. The poorer people, who ate off from wood flatware of course, did not have the same difficulty and so only the poverty-stricken people of the day ate tomatoes.

Look for colors when you look for anti-aging foods. Greens, such as spinach, kale, romaine lettuce, dandelion greens, Swiss chard and more are remarkably healthy. Orange foods like pumpkin, carrots, sweet potatoes should be incorporated. And beans and legumes, nuts and seeds, Tea, red wine and dark chocolate are also great foods to thwart the tribulations of aging.

It turns out that the fountain of youth is something that has been accessible to us all along. We just need to take better benefit of it and add in more natural, whole foods in our diet and eliminate the artificial foods that have become abundant in our culture.
