The Financial Health Of College Freshmen.

What is the current financial health and financial savvy of this year's college freshmen? One answer is found in First USA's financial index, a survey of about 400 high school seniors who graduated in the spring.

Among the findings: most entering freshmen (71 percent) expect to hold down a job in their freshman year, and only 10 percent will rely entirely on their parents for tuition and expenses. About a third will receive financial aid in one form or another, and nearly half say they'll rely on several sources of revenue, including their parents. (Go to www.firstusa.com.)
