The Economist Group acquires GalleryWatch.

The Economist Group (New York/London), a business whose assets include "The Economist," The Economist Intelligence Unit, "CFO" magazine and "Roll Call," has acquired GalleryWatch (Washington, D.C./Austin, TX), a provider of real-time online information and tools fore searching, tracking, managing and analyzing the Federal and Texas legislative, regulatory and appropriations processes. No terms were given.

GalleryWatch serves thousands of government affairs professionals at government agencies, trade associations, corporations, law and lobbying firms and universities, an audience that The Economist Group already targets through "Roll Call," a title produced four times a week to cover Congressional news and information in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1996, the company offers a range of information services, including: "Tax Trot," a daily collection of tax bills introduced in Congress; "Federal Register Watch," a daily advance notice of grant opportunities with analysis of budget and appropriations developments; "US Budget News Service," a daily news service; legislation tracking and notification; agency tracking and notification; congressional voting scorecards; and, committee transcripts.

GalleryWatch will become a part of "Roll Call," The acquisition is The Economist Group's second this year. In January, the Group acquired EuroFinance Conferences (London), a producer of global and regional cash and treasury management events.
