However good a reach truck is, it can always be improved. That is the rationale behind Crown looking at every element of its ESR reach truck series. The new ESR 5000 is the result of going back to basics and re-examining every detail and replaces its predecessor, the highly successful ESR 4500 reach truck. Now the revolutionary ESR 5000 Series has gone several steps further. Operators will benefit from advances in ergonomics, visibility and flexibility--and fleet managers will appreciate the range's serviceability.

Whether they drive the standard model or the top-of-the-line S Class, operators will work faster and more comfortably. So the ESR 5000 makes the most of operator time and lowers the total cost of ownership for warehouse managers. To maximise productivity and reduce the risk of accidents, operators need a broad, unimpeded field of vision at all times. All ESR 5000 models are fitted with Crown's unique offset mast and innovative overhead guard, giving operators a clear view of the forks, load wheels and surrounding area.

Access to the cab is easier, too. A long, low step together with long grab-handles and smoothly rounded surfaces all make climbing in and out of the vehicle easier and in the cab itself, there's plenty of room. An ergonomic suspension seat that can be adjusted for each operator's individual weight, complete with lumbar support. The desktop in the cab has an integrated clipboard and plenty of room for storage, while the Work AssistTM tubular mount is ideal for holding data terminals and barcode scanners.

Because each application is different, the ESR 5000 has been designed for flexibility from the ground up. Operators can choose the right set of hydraulic controls to suit the application from a selection of multitask, fingertip and dual-lever options and each driver can decide whether the electronic steering should rotate just 180[degrees] or a full 360[degrees]. Combined with the infinitely adjustable steering column, manoeuvring a truck has never been so easy.

The S Class operator compartment is a unique workspace. The larger cabin is fitted with the new rotating MoveSeat[TM], complete with headrest and controls integrated into the armrest. The Crown-designed FlexBack[TM] system allows operators to view elevated loads without craning their necks.

Access 123[TM] technology offers safe, reliable performance, advanced diagnostics allow service engineers to pinpoint faults instantly and test components on the spot. And the easy-to-use InfoPoint[TM] component maps mean components are easily identified once the access covers have been removed. And, of course, the entire model range is fitted with energy-saving regenerative braking.

The ESR 5000 is available with load capacities of 1.4, 1.6 or 2.0 tonnes and a lift height up to 12 metres. All models can be fitted with options for specific applications--rack height selection, load recognition, tilt position assistance and mast or fork-mounted cameras.
