The DinA range by Wilkhahn: versatile work interiors.(Design: Udo Schill, Timo Kuchler) The rapid development of information and communication technology has resulted in fundamental changes in work environments. The core functions of office spaces are changing in line with the disappearance of the division between living space and working space. If terms of reference Terms of reference allude to a mutual agreement under which a command, element, or unit exercises authority or undertakes specific missions or tasks relative to another command, element, or unit. Also called TORs. , processes and team formation undergo dynamic change, then interiors, equipment and furniture have to adapt to such change with maximum versatility ... Complex issues require simple solutions With the DinA range, Wilkhahn has addressed these terms of reference and developed an innovative furnishing concept. The great challenge which confronted the Stuttgart designers Udo Schill and Timo Kuchler was to project the complexity of modern work environments as simply as possible. After all, the required maximum scope of application, service life and utility value can only be achieved via the intricate process of refining refining, any of various processes for separating impurities from crude or semifinished materials. It includes the finer processes of metallurgy, the fractional distillation of petroleum into its commercial products, and the purifying of cane, beet, and maple sugar down to the very simplest solution. However, the key point is that additional formats, based on the same proportions, can be achieved by halving or doubling the surface. The result was a set of furniture comprising tables and storage units, so-called "Volumina", which meets a host of requirements while using only three table formats in three functional heights. [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] Reduce to the max The art of reducing to essentials is also reflected in the high quality of materials, workmanship and innovative details. The wood, which is through-dyed in the colour black-grey and mitre jointed, gives the tables and Volumina a strong, monolithic Single object. Self contained. One unit. character.
