The Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University has announced the winners of the 15th Dorothea Lange-Paul Taylor Prize. Photographer Peter Brown and writer Kent Haruf Kent Haruf (born February 24, 1943) is an award winning American novelist.

Haruf was born in Pueblo, Colorado, the son of a Methodist minister. He graduated with a BA from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1965 and an MFA from the Iowa Writers' Workshop at the University of
