The Bulletin also wants to recognize those situations that transcend the normal rigors of the law enforcement profession. One evening, Officers Ellis Watson and Joseph DiMaria of the Swissvale, Pennsylvania Swissvale is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, nine miles (14 km) east of downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Without air masks or protective clothing, Officers Watson and DiMaria entered and made their way through heavy smoke and flames to the upstairs apartments. After a search, the officers located the two victims and carried them both outside to safety. One of the women required her oxygen tank to remain in use, presenting a risk of explosion; the officers also removed two additional tanks to protect the firefighters that later would arrive. Both victims received treatment at a local hospital and were released. The selfless self·less adj. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 105,167. It is the fourth largest city in the state.
