Diversity Career Fair to be Held in Boston's Historic Fenway Park on June 5, 2007

 workforce shortage, local employers are facing the challenge of diversifying their workforce in order to continue to grow. To address this issue, The Boston Globe and the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts are joining forces to host a Professional Diversity Career Fair at Fenway Park in Boston on Tuesday, June 5, 2007. With more than half of Boston residents identifying themselves as part of a diverse population, this fair is designed to benefit both businesses looking to grow a diverse workforce and area professionals from different races, abilities, ages and walks of life.

The Professional Diversity Career Fair is the perfect vehicle for diverse candidates looking for a new opportunity. The event will bring together the region's top employers who are looking to hire. Companies that will be recruiting include Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Brigham and Women's Hospital Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) is a hospital in the Longwood Area of the Boston, Massachusetts neighborhood of Mission Hill. With Massachusetts General Hospital, it is one of the two founding members of Partners HealthCare. , Bright Horizons, Eastern Bank, Poland Spring, The Boston Red Sox The Boston Red Sox are a professional baseball team based in Boston, Massachusetts. The Red Sox are a member and currently champions of the Eastern Division of Major League Baseball’s American League. From to the present, the Red Sox have played in Fenway Park.  and the University of Massachusetts The system includes UMass Amherst, UMass Boston, UMass Dartmouth (affiliated with Cape Cod Community College), UMass Lowell, and the UMass Medical School. It also has an online school called UMassOnline. , among many others. The fair will be open from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m.

To maximize attendance, The Boston Globe has collaborated with the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts, one of the region's leading organizations working toward helping diverse individuals advance in their industries.
