Dr. Retief (49), a South African by birth, joins Redmond after having spent the past 4 years with Langeberg Foods International, a U.K. based company, where he held the position of Managing Director.

Langeberg Foods International is a wholly-owned subsidiary of South Africa's Fast Moving Consumer Goods Manufacturer. In addition, Langeberg Foods International is the largest exporter of a comprehensive portfolio of FMCG to over 50 countries worldwide.

Dr. Retief is a multi-faceted professional, his career having spanned engineering, computer technology, business administration, sales and marketing in a number of international markets.

Before assuming the position of Managing Director at Langeberg Foods, Jannie spent 9 years with KWV Paarl, one of the largest wine and spirit manufacturers in the world, where he held the position of Chief Marketing and Sales Executive. His duties there being to market KWV products world-wide.

Dr. Retief graduated from the University of Pretoria where he gained a BSc Hons in Mechanical Engineering. His MSc Hons in Operational Research was achieved in the UK at Cranfield Institute of Technology, before he returned to South Africa where he received his Doctorate in Business and Financial Administration at the University of Cape Town.

The Board has been searching for almost a year to find the right person to fill the role of permanent CEO. This has proved to be no easy task, as the criteria we set were very high. We consider ourselves fortunate to have found and to have secured the services of Dr. Retief and we are certain that his knowledge, experience, skills and contacts base will have a major beneficial effect on the future of Redmond.
