The Biltmore Fitness Center Introduces a New Season of Aqua Classes.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- The Biltmore Fitness Center has expanded its aquatic classes to include four new opportunities to get in shape while staying cool. Members and hotel guests can enjoy what fitness experts tout as the safest and most beneficial overall body workouts. These unique classes, which take place in the Biltmore's landmark pool, utilize the buoyant support and resistance of water to create an effective workout.

Based on the popularity of its Hydro Pilates(TM) classes, the Biltmore Fitness Center has added four new aqua classes. The Biltmore is the only fitness center in Florida teaching Hydracuatica in levels I and II, and Aqua Piyochi. Hydracuatica is a full body workout that includes cardio and aerobic activities to improve overall tone. A fluid mix of movements from techniques such as Pilates, Yoga and Tai Chi make Aqua Piyochi unique and fun. Theses classes develop a system of corrective exercises to tone muscles and improve posture, flexibility and balance.

For a more intense water workout, sign up for Bootcamp in the Water. This new class offers a high intensity cardio and strengthening workout using weights, circuit and agility training.

"Aquatics are among the few exercise classes where people of all ages and fitness levels can benefit from the same workout," says Biltmore aerobics director Ann Anthony.

All aquatic teachers at The Biltmore are trained and certified by AEA (Aquatic Exercise Association) and ATRI (Aquatic Therapy and Rehabilitation Institute). Sixteen aquatics classes are offered weekly (each accommodating up to 40 people) in the Biltmore's 700,000-gallon pool, the largest hotel swimming pool in the Continental United States. Morning and evening aquatic classes are offered Monday through Saturday.

In addition to the new offerings, the Fitness Center presents Aqua Training, H20 Power Hour, Wet Workout and Hydro Pilates(TM). All classes are suitable for ALL levels and even non-swimmers can participate (flotation devices are used as part of the classes). Participants must be 16 years of age. These classes are included in the fitness membership program or may be purchased on a per-class basis. All fitness classes are free to guests of the hotel.
