The Big Help.


Nickelodeon's The Big Help is an ongoing grassroots campaign to connect kids to their communities through volunteering.

Since the first televised Big Help-a-thon in the fall of 1994, 33 million kids have pledged 383 million volunteer hours to improving their communities- evidence that kids really do want to help in a big way!

Kids are helping to make the world a better place every day- and having a great time during the process! By volunteering and contributing to their communities, kids are also building self-esteem self-esteem

Sense of personal worth and ability that is fundamental to an individual's identity. Family relationships during childhood are believed to play a crucial role in its development.

Who?

The Big Help wants kids, parents, teachers, schools, and anyone who can help get kids involved. This year, The Big Help activities theme is Parks - cleaning, building, maintaining, and re-equipping parks. Kids and adults are encouraged to develop volunteer events in their local parks.

When?

Everyday! The Big Help is an on-going campaign that encourages kids to help in any way they want -- with people, animals, or the environment. Special elements of The Big Help keep the focus on helping year-round.

The Big Help-a-thon - A televised extravaganza ex·trav·a·gan·za
