The Bank of Georgia Announces New Accounting and Human Resources Officer and Banking Officer.

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 18, 2003

Pat Shepherd, President of The Bank of Georgia, a bank subsidiary of Georgia Bancshares, Inc. (OTCBB: GABA), announced today that the bank's Board of Directors has named Cindy Coker as Accounting and Human Resources Officer and Debbie Burke as Banking Officer.

Ms. Coker will be responsible for managing the bank's Human Resources activities and the daily accounting processes of the bank. Ms. Burke will assume responsibility as Manager of the bank's Highway 54 West office in Fayetteville, Georgia as well as the bank's new supermarket branch located inside the Kroger store at Towne Center in Fayetteville, GA. Susan Smith, the current manager of the bank's Highway 54 office will be assuming responsibility for the bank's new Tyrone office which is scheduled to open in August, 2003.

Ms. Coker joined The Bank of Georgia in August of 2002 as an Accountant responsible for daily accounting procedures and payroll administration. Ms. Coker was previously with the City of LaGrange Housing Authority and served the First National Bank of Goliad, Texas as an Assistant Cashier and SunTrust Bank in Rome, Georgia as Operations and Security Officer. A native of Texas, Ms. Coker has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Central Texas and performed post-graduate work at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. She currently resides in Hogansville, Georgia.

Ms. Burke joined The Bank of Georgia in November of 2002 as a Personal Banker at the bank's new facility in Peachtree City. Ms. Burke was previously a Personal Banker with Peachtree National Bank in Peachtree City, Georgia and was a Branch Manager with Charter Bank & Trust in Marietta, Georgia. Ms. Burke resides in Fayetteville, Georgia.

The Bank of Georgia's supermarket branch at Towne Center in Fayetteville opened in June of this year and is open Wednesday to Monday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily and will be closed on Tuesdays. The Tyrone office will be a full-service banking office located at the intersection of Tyrone Road and Highway 74 in Tyrone, Georgia. These offices will be the fourth an fifth banking offices of The Bank of Georgia.
