The Appraisal Foundation Announces Leadership for 2007.

WASHINGTON -- The Appraisal Foundation, the Congressionally authorized source of appraisal standards and appraiser qualifications, has announced its slate of Officers for 2007.

Chair: Arthur E. Clapp of Tolland, Connecticut 

Arthur Clapp is the Deputy Chief Appraise of the Appraiser Services Directorate with the U.S. Department of Interior. Prior to his service with the US DOI, Mr. Clapp operated a fee-appraisal business specializing in rural and agricultural properties throughout the United States.

Vice Chair: Shawn P. McGowan of Germantown, Tennessee

Shawn McGowan is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Valocity, a national valuations solutions provider. Mr. McGowan has been involved with the Foundation in a number of leadership capacities over the past few years, including Chairing the Ethics Committee and the Industry Advisory Council and as Chair of the Steering Committee for the October 12, 2006 Valuation Fraud Symposium.

Secretary: Larry D. Kokel of Georgetown, Texas

Larry Kokel is a partner in the appraisal firm Kokel-Oberrender-Wood Appraisal Ltd. in Georgetown, Texas. The firm specializes in land and commercial appraisal in Central Texas. Mr. Kokel currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board.

Assistant Secretary: Alan E. Hummel of St, Paul, Minnesota

Alan Hummel is Senior Vice President and Chief Appraiser of Forsythe Appraisals, LLC where he uses his 24 years of experience as a resource to both appraisers and clients in matters dealing with real estate analysis, by providing appraisers with the training and support necessary to complete assignments ethically and competently and by interacting with clients to understand their needs.

Treasurer: John Bredemeyer of Omaha, Nebraska

John Bredemeyer is the President of Realcorp Appraisal Company in Omaha Nebraska. He has been an appraiser for over 27 years, and holds the SRA professional designation from the Appraisal Institute. Mr. Bredemeyer is a Past Chairman of the Nebraska Real Estate Appraiser Board.

Assistant Treasurer: Alyce DeJong of Newark, New Jersey

Alyce De Jong is the Chief Real Estate Appraiser for Prudential Investment Management, the asset management business of Prudential Financial, Inc., where she is responsible for the valuation process and procedures for assets held in funds managed by Prudential Real Estate Investors.
