The 7-Minute Rotator Cuff Solution.Although it is not obvious from the title, this book is primarily written for weight lifters weight·lift·er or weight lift·er n. One who lifts heavy weights for exercise or in an athletic competition. weight lifter n → levantador(a) m/f de pesas . it approaches the rotator cuff rotator cuff n. A set of muscles and tendons that secures the arm to the shoulder joint and permits rotation of the arm. Also called musculotendinous cuff. , and potential problems associated with it, from the standpoint of a weight lifter. The authors' treatment of the subject matter is sufficient, albeit somewhat light. The anatomy of the shoulder and the rotator cuff is addressed in a simple manner, along with pathologies. Common training mistakes that lead to pathologies are also mentioned. Exercise programs and stretches for different levels of rehabilitation rehabilitation: see physical therapy. and conditioning are described and illustrated. The depth of coverage is sufficient for its intended audience, and the information appears to be accurate and up-to-date. Although I question some of the authors' rationales regarding intensity and frequency of training, these concepts may be readily accepted in weight-lifting circles. The authors do not, however, reference these training techniques, so the techniques appear somewhat empirical. There is a bibliography bibliography. The listing of books is of ancient origin. Lists of clay tablets have been found at Nineveh and elsewhere; the library at Alexandria had subject lists of its books. at the end of the book, but nothing is referenced directly in the text. The text is well organized and well written for a nonmedical audience, and the illustrations in the book are clear and accurate. For those who are interested, there is an appendix that covers, in greater detail, the same material found in the beginning of the book. A small glossary A term used by Microsoft Word and adopted by other word processors for the list of shorthand, keyboard macros created by a particular user. See glossaries in this publication and The Computer Glossary. is also provided. Because of the basic approach used in this book, it would not be a worthwhile investment for a professional library. The book could be useful, however, for a patient who is interested in weight lifting weight lifting, international sport, also a training technique for athletes in other sports. From the earliest times men have lifted weights as a test of strength. and has a rotator cuff problem or wants to avoid one. |
