ACTORS CABARET OF EUGENE - Don Kelley will play the good side, Kevin Boling the bad in Joe Zingo's Oregon premiere production of the Broadway hit "Jekyll & Hyde" (July 12-Aug. 3).

ACE's Youth Academy will present the musical "Bugsy Malone Jr." (July 20-Aug. 4) with a cast of 7- to 17-year-old performers in pinstripes.

COTTAGE THEATRE - Karen Bednarz plays a fetching dog in the title role of A.R. Gurney's adult comedy "Sylvia" (June 14-29). Another comedy, "The Man Who Came to Dinner" (July 26-Aug. 10) will round out the summer season in Cottage Grove Cottage Grove, village (1990 pop. 22,935), Washington co., SE Minn., near the St. Croix River; inc. 1965. There is farming (cattle, sheep, corn, and soybeans) and manufacturing (chemicals and machinery). .

CONCERTS IN THE PARK - The city of Eugene's outdoor classical music series at Washburne Park, 20th and Agate streets, will consist of 14 concerts by wind ensembles, mainly brass: New Horizons Band (June 23), One More Time Marching Band Noun 1. marching band - a band that marches (as in a parade) and plays music at the same time
band - instrumentalists not including string players
 (June 30), Eugene Symphonic Band (July 4), Springfield Community Concert Band (July 7), Junction City Junction City, city (1990 pop. 20,604), seat of Geary co., NE Kans., at the confluence of the Republican and Smoky Hill rivers; inc. 1859. The rail, trade, and processing center of an agricultural and dairy area, it grew as the supply point for nearby Fort Riley,  Brass (July 14), Emerald Renaissance Band (July 21), Oregon Tuba Ensemble (July 28), Emerald Horn Club (Aug. 4), Brass Bash (Aug. 11), One More Time Marching Band (Aug. 18), Eugene Symphonic Band (Aug. 25), Emerald Renaissance Band (Sept. 1), Winds With Winds (Sept. 2) and Dillard Gang (Sept. 8).

CUTHBERT AMPHITHEATER - The big outdoor amphitheater has four events scheduled: The B.B. King Blues Festival (Aug. 3), a jazz concert concluding the Oregon Festival of American Music Oregon Festival of American Music is an eclectic, thematically-based two-week summer music festival that has been held annually in Eugene, Oregon since 1992. Produced by The John G.  (Aug. 10), a free band concert by the U.S. Air Force's Band of the Golden West (Aug. 24) and country star Randy Travis Randy Bruce Traywick (born May 4, 1959 in Marshville, North Carolina), better known by his stage name, Randy Travis, is an American country singer and one of the most influential figures of Neotraditional Country.  (Aug. 29).

EUGENE SYMPHONIC BAND - The 60-member adult community band, directed by Robert Ponto, will play patriotic, light classical and march music in three free, hour-long outdoor concerts: Holt Park Holt Park is a quiet, low-rise, 1970s estate in the northwest suburbs of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England (approximately seven miles from the city centre). Holt Park is situated between Tinshill, Cookridge and Adel.  in Creswell (1 p.m. July 4), and Washburne Park in Eugene (6:30 p.m. July 4 and 6:30 p.m. Aug. 25).

HULT CENTER - The Oregon Bach Festival The Oregon Bach Festival is an annual celebration of the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, held in Eugene, Oregon in late June and early July. It was co-founded by German conductor Helmuth Rilling and the former president of the American Choral Directors Association, Royce Saltzman,  (June 28-July 14) and Oregon Festival of American Music (Aug. 1-10) will have the place to themselves this summer; no other shows are planned at this time.

LANE COMMUNITY COLLEGE - Community actors will be featured in Leonard Bernstein's "West Side Story" (July 12-20), a fund-raiser for the school's music department.

LORD LEEBRICK THEATRE - A new play by William Mastrosimone (`Extremities," "Bang, Bang, You're Dead') will have its premiere, directed by Michael Fisher (Aug. 29-Sept. 7).

Rather than sit dark this summer, the theater also will offer comedy (Pour Babies and Absolute Improv) and music (Oregon Country Fair The Oregon Country Fair (OCF) is a three-day fair that takes place yearly beginning on the Friday of the second weekend in July in Veneta, Oregon, approximately 15 miles west of Eugene, with an attendance of approximately 45,000 over the three day period, with attendance peaking  Gypsy Caravan, Tracy Bonham and Peter Mulvey).

 SUMMER THEATRE - The University of Oregon's summer theater program will do two family-oriented plays: "Who's Afraid of the Big, Bad Wolf?" (July 9-20) and "Pinocchio Commedia" (July 30-Aug. 10). Shows begin at 11 a.m. They'll be outdoors in the amphitheater adjacent to Robinson Theatre, moving indoors on days when nearby construction noise is overwhelming.

MUSICAL FEET - Some 150 students will be involved in "Dance, the Next Generation: Our Hope Is in Youth" (today) at the Hult Center's Soreng Theatre. And students involved in Musical Feet's summer camps will do a variety show of poetry, skits, songs and dances at Musical Feet (Aug. 1).

OREGON FESTIVAL OF AMERICAN MUSIC - George Gershwin will be the focus of the 11th annual music festival (Aug. 1-10). The schedule includes three performances each of two musicals (`Crazy for You" and "Lady, Be Good'), two classical concerts, seven jazz and historic popular music concerts, a dinner-dance, five Gershwin films and free recitals.

Artistic director Dick Hyman is back, along with jazz pianist Derek Smith, ukulele ukulele (ykəlā`lē), Hawaiian musical instrument developed from the Portuguese guitar. It has a fretted fingerboard and four strings that are plucked or strummed.  virtuoso Ian Whitcomb, vocalists Shirley Sachs and Lenanne Sylvester, and classical pianist William Wolfram wolfram: see tungsten. .

PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S CHOIR FESTIVAL - Some 250 singers in five choirs will come together for the fifth annual Pacific International Children's Choir Festival, June 26 through July 2.

Participating will be the Alaska Children's Choir (Anchorage), Pacific Chorale Children's Chorus (Santa Ana, Calif.), Piedmont Children's Choir (Piedmont, Calif.), Seattle Children's Chorus and Oregon Festival Choirs' Fiero Boychoir. The guest director is Rebecca Rottsolk, former artistic director of the Northwest Girlchoir.

SPOTLIGHT THEATRE - Teen-agers will play teen-agers in the musical "Grease" (July 15-20). Director Mary Huls' spirited bunch will take the stage at the McDonald Theatre in Eugene and at Spotlight Theatre in Pleasant Hill.

VERY LITTLE THEATRE - Archetypes from Studs Terkel's best-selling book about the American workplace - a newsboy, a schoolteacher, a housewife, a parking lot attendant, a millworker, a sailor, a fireman, a waitress and many others - sing and dance in Stephen Schwartz's musical "Working," directed by Melina Neal (Aug. 9-31).
