Round Two of City Center's phenomenally diverse Fall for Dance festival was not quite as wall-to-wall excellent as the first year. There were a few clunkers, but the high points were just as high.  Isaac (see "25 to Watch"), Stanton Welch's Houston Ballet The Houston Ballet, operated by the Houston Ballet Foundation, is the fifth-largest professional ballet company in the United States, based in Houston, Texas. [1]  in his lushly inventive Nosotros, and Aditi Mangaldas Dance Company with its amazing interactive body rhythms. Larry Keigwin's Angels of Anxiety, displayed a punk-high energy, and Joanna Haigood had a wistful magic, gliding through her Dance in a Doorway (an Air Mail Dance by Remy Charlip Remy Charlip (b. 1929) is an American artist, writer, choreographer, designer and teacher.

Charlip created a unique form of choreography, which he calls "air mail dances".
). It was nifty to see Charles Moulton's ball-passing again (right) and glorious to watch Bill Irwin's loose-legged dancing. But the awesome part was the juxtapositions between things, the aesthetic and cultural shifts between a Forsythe duet followed by a Loie Fuller-type solo, or Le Spectre de la Rose Le Spectre de la Rose is a ballet of the Ballets Russes based on a choreographic poem by Théophile Gautier. The music, by Carl Maria von Weber, was taken from his short piece Invitation to the Dance.  followed by Urban Bush Women. The experience was, well, mind-expanding.
