Systems Marine and Land Operations was warded a $ 500,000
contract by Navsea for the further development of a concept study for
the US Navy's Focused Mission Ship. This concept is part of the
Navy's planned transformation of the 21st Century design intended
to complement the current Aegis fleet by operating in environments where
larger multi-mission ships are not as flexible. The Navy is expected to
develop a request for proposal for a prototype Prototype
