Texas foundries participate in environmental program.


Two Forth Worth, Texas foundries--Fort Worth Aluminum Foundry and Midland Manufacturing Co.--have recently been certified See certification.  to participate in a state environmental compliance program offered by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality The Texas Commission for Environmental Quality is the environmental agency for the U.S. state of Texas. The Compliance Commitment (C2) Partnership Program is an incentive available to small business and local governments who participate in the Small Business and Local Government Assistance's (SBLGA) site visit program and achieve 100% compliance with TCEQ rules.

For the two foundries, this certification means a one-year exemption from scheduled environmental inspections by TCEQ, the City of Fort Worth Environmental Management Div. and U.S. EPA EPA eicosapentaenoic acid.

"Not only is the C2 Program unprecedented in the U.S., it also prides itself on promoting smart enforcement, which is unique in it's own right," says Tamra Oatman, SBLGA section manager. "These two compailies are the first foundries ever to participate and be certified. They have shown, by example, remarkable courage vision and leadership to other members of their industry."

Fort Worth Aluminum Foundry is an aluminum sand caster offering heat treatment, machining and nondestructive testing Nondestructive testing (NDT), also called nondestructive evaluation (NDE) and nondestructive inspection (NDI), is testing that does not destroy the test object. NDE is vital for constructing and maintaining all types of components and structures. . Midland Manufacturing is a copper-base sand foundry and machine works.
