Texaco announces formation of technology division; Dr. Ronald J. Robinson Appointed Division President.WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 20--Texaco announced today the formation of a new division committed to the research and application of technology, the patenting and licensing of such technology, the design and management of major developments and projects, and the prioritization of best practices in the research and technology arena. The new Technology Division which becomes operational Jan. 1, 1996, will be led by Dr. Ronald J. Black added, "This new division will enable each of the research units to operate in a boundaryless fashion in the pursuit of advanced technologies. It also facilitates the efficient and cost-effective application of these technologies to our businesses - - which are key to Texaco's future economic growth and competitiveness." The new division will be comprised of the following business units: - The Exploration and Production Technology Department which designs, develops and delivers strategic, integrated technology to add value to Texaco's upstream businesses. The department's responsibilities include lubricants research; refining and fuels research; and the management and operation of the company's laboratories in Beacon, N.Y.; Port Arthur, Texas Port Arthur is a city in Jefferson County within the Beaumont-Port Arthur metropolitan area and is situated in southeast Texas.
