oil discovery offshore northeastern China in the Bohai Bay Contract Area 11/19, located approximately 90 miles south of Tanggu near the Port of Tianjin The Port of Tianjin is located to the west of Bohai Bay and in the estuary of the Haihe River. It is 170 km south east of Beijing and east of Tianjin city. It is the start of the Asia Euro Rail Bridge. It is the largest man made seaport and river port in mainland China. .

The discovery well, Bozhong 25-1-8, is in 57 feet of water and was drilled to a total depth of 7,134 feet.
