Tetra Pak Introduce ThinkTop.

The ThinkTop valve control and indicator provides a new level of sophistication for automated valve control in the dairy, soft drinks and liquid food industries, say the manufacturers, Tetra Pak Ltd of 1 Longwalk Road, Stockley Park, Uxbridge, Middlesex, tel:0870 442 6000.

They tell us the ThinkTop can be set-up without any dismantling or re-adjustment, which saves time during installation and commissioning. It is self-adjusting when it has been installed and automatically informs the user if seals have been worn before it is time for a scheduled maintenance. A local LED indicator will light and a signal will be sent to the control system that maintenance needs to be carried out.

As readers may appreciate, traditional top units can only indicate two positions and hold two solenoid valves. ThinkTop can indicate four positions and hold three solenoid valves as required for mixproof valves with a seat lift.

The ThinkTop control and indication unit is versatile. It can be used on any air-operated hygienic valve, including single-seat, butterfly and mixproof valves from Alfa Laval. It can operate with a variety of interface modules. Three levels of communication, including Digital, AS-Interface (simple BUS system) and DeviceNet (advanced BUS system) are all compatible with the ThinkTop control unit.
