The setting for this story is the coastal mountains and the Ojai Valley of Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  where we met Tessa, a young red fox who is rather lazy. Instead of learning how to hunt for herself, Tessa relies on her brother Rex to share his meals with her. It's when Tessa tries to strike out on her own that she learns the importance of work and being able to take care of herself--as well as others who depend on her. "Tessa On Her Own" is a highly recommended and brilliantly produced package for school libraries and homestudy curriculums that includes a DVD DVD: see digital versatile disc.
