Prior to today's announcement, investigative searching has yielded wreck indicators like anchors, cannons, cannon balls and brass and bronze fittings; but had not delineated a complete ship. From its base in Varadero, the search vessel "Decibar" has the capacity to survey one square kilometre of the ocean floor every search day.
