Terracotta Takes Clustered Java Virtual Machine to Europe; Ari Zilka and Jonas Boner Speak on Clustering Applications at The ServerSide Java Symposium.

SAN FRANCISCO San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  -- Terracotta, Inc., a leader in delivering groundbreaking solutions for enterprise Java scalability, today announced that the company is taking its Clustered Java Virtual Machine A Java interpreter. The Java Virtual Machine (JVM) is software that converts the Java intermediate language (bytecode) into machine language and executes it. The original JVM came from the JavaSoft division of Sun.  (JVM See Java Virtual Machine.

) to Europe this month.

Following an overwhelming reception at JavaOne in May, where the company introduced clustering/load balancing at the JVM level instead of at the application level, Terracotta presented at the SpringOne Conference in Belgium last week and will present at TheServerSide Java Symposium in Barcelona, Spain, June 21-23.

Ari Zilka and Jonas Boner, both well-respected for their expertise in Java development, will lead upcoming technical sessions at The ServerSide Java Symposium as follows:
-- The Inner Workings of a "Clustered" JVM, by Ari Zilka,
        president & CEO, Terracotta

As the former Chief Architect of Walmart.com, Ari understands
first-hand the challenges that developers face in building
scaleable, fault-tolerant production systems. In this session,
he will demonstrate real-world examples, including source
code, to show how it is both possible and highly valuable to
cluster the JVM instead of the application.

-- Transparently Clustered Spring, by Jonas Boner, creator of
AspectWerkz AOP framework and a senior systems engineer at
        Terracotta

Following his recent presentation to a capacity crowd of 500+
at JavaOne, Jonas will explain how to cluster Spring
applications without changes in application code. He will also
discuss how clustering at the JVM level allows developers to
take an arbitrary Spring application, written for a single JVM
machine, and cluster it to N nodes while preserving the exact
        same semantics.
