Tennis targeted for baby boomers.

One of the main elements of the agreement involves the joint implementation Joint implementation (JI) is an arrangement under the Kyoto Protocol allowing industrialised countries with a greenhouse gas reduction commitment (so-called Annex 1 countries) to invest in emission reducing projects in another industrialised country as an alternative to  of Welcome Back to Tennis, a national promotion that provides participants with free program materials to start a series of four-week tennis sessions. The two organizations also plan to host three-hour tennis events in more than 20 cities nationwide.

"This partnership underscores our message that people of all ages and abilities can have fun and stay fit playing tennis," said Kurt Kamperman, chief executive of community tennis at USTA.

These special events will offer educational lectures on warm-up and cool-down techniques, racquet and footwear selection, tennis demonstrations and more. There will also be equipment giveaways, music, food and beverages.

"By attending one of the Welcome Back to Tennis events, you'll quickly remember just how much fun tennis is and how this social activity also offers an excellent form of exercise," said Colin Milner, ICAA chief executive officer.
