Tenet Promotes Lynn S. Hart to Senior Vice President, Government Relations.

) today announced that Lynn S. Hart has been promoted to senior vice president, government relations.

Hart, who joined Tenet in 1996 as vice president, government relations, oversees the development and implementation of the company's legislative strategies, including management of its federal and state grassroots lobbying activities. She reports to Barry P. Schochet, vice chairman, and is based at Tenet's Dallas Operations Center.

"Our need for effective government relations has never been greater, and Lynn's promotion reflects her increased responsibilities in handling the myriad of issues we face with local, state and federal governments," Schochet said.

Before joining Tenet, Hart, 45, worked almost 11 years for the Federation of American Health Systems, a Washington, D.C.-based organization that represents more than 1,700 investor-owned U.S. hospitals and health systems. Earlier in her career, she served as director, government affairs, of the American Physical Therapy Association The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is a national professional organization representing more than 66,000 members. Its goal is to foster advancements in physical therapy practice, research, and education.  from 1980 to 1981. From 1976 to 1980, she served on Capitol Hill as a legislative assistant and legislative correspondent.
