) announced today that three of its hospitals are included in the July 23, 2007 issue of U.S.News & World Report magazine that lists "America's Best Hospitals America's Best Hospitals Media & health An annual 'report card' on the quality of care received in US hospitals published by US News & World Report, that is either proudly quoted by those who are rated or dismissed by those who are not " for 2007. The three hospitals, all academic medical centers, are Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis and USC University Hospital in Los Angeles.

Hahnemann University Hospital, a 618-bed teaching hospital that serves as the primary teaching hospital for Drexel College of Medicine, was ranked by the magazine among the Top 50 hospitals in the field of heart care.

 hospital that serves as the primary teaching hospital for Saint Louis University School of Medicine Saint Louis University School of Medicine is one of the eleven schools which comprise Saint Louis University. It was established in 1836 as the Medical Department of the university and had the distinction, in 1839, of awarding the first M.D. , was ranked as one of the top hospitals in geriatric medicine. Saint Louis University Hospital returned to the rankings this year after receiving similar rankings from 1997 to 2005. U.S. News did not rank hospitals in the field of geriatric medicine in 2006.

USC University Hospital, a 329-bed research and teaching hospital staffed by the faculty of the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California The U.S. News & World Report ranked USC 27th among all universities in the United States in its 2008 ranking of "America's Best Colleges", also designating it as one of the "most selective universities" for admitting 8,634 of the almost 34,000 who applied for freshman admission , had two specialty programs ranked by the magazine among the Top 50 hospitals in the fields of ophthalmology and gynecology. USC University Hospital ranked eighth in ophthalmology and has been ranked in the top 10 since 1997. The hospital's gynecology program has been ranked since 2003.

In addition, 22 Tenet hospitals are among 277 hospitals nationwide that are recognized by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association in the same issue of U.S.News & World Report for their achievements in the Get With the Guidelines(SM) (GWTG GWTG Get with the Guidelines (American Heart Association hospital quality improvement program) ) program to improve patient outcomes and save lives by promoting evidence-based treatments for coronary artery disease coronary artery disease, condition that results when the coronary arteries are narrowed or occluded, most commonly by atherosclerotic deposits of fibrous and fatty tissue.  (CAD), heart failure and stroke. Most notably, Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta is recognized for sustaining 85 percent or higher adherence to all CAD performance measures for two or more years.

Three Tenet hospitals - Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach, Fla., Los Alamitos Medical Center in Los Alamitos, Calif. and Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis - were also recognized for participating in all three GWTG modules.
