Tenacious woman vanquishes voyeur.

For many months, 28-year-old Hannah Arbuckle of Indianapolis, Indiana, suspected that a stranger was spying on her. She told the October 4 Indianapolis Star, "I would wake up to him looking in nay windows or when I would get out of the shower. It happened quite a lot."

On October 1, she had again noticed the man outside her home. This time, she bolted from the house and began chasing him. He fled to his pickup truck and sped away, but not before Arbuckle jumped into the bed of the truck and used her cell phone to call 911 and keep the operator informed of the truck's location.

The driver eventually pulled over, jumped from the cab, and began striking Arbuckle in an attempt to force her from the truck bed. Police arrived moments later and arrested Robert Joseph Braun, a convicted rapist and a suspect in numerous other "peeping Tom" incidents. When authorities searched his home, they found incriminating videotapes and photographs, some of which were of Arbuckle.

In addition to charges of stalking and felony battery of an officer (during his arrest), Braun was booked on 12 preliminary charges of felony voyeurism. According to court records, he was convicted of rape in 1982 and served 18 years in prison.

Arbuckle, who suffered a twisted knee and a few bruises during the ordeal, told the Star, "I was stupid to do it, but I was afraid he would get away, and I would not be able to identify him to police." And in any event, "Wednesday night was the first night in a long time that I slept well, because I knew he would not be outside and looking through my window."
