Lightning Technology Integrated with McAfee IntruShield Intrusion Prevention Technology to Correlate Vulnerability and Intrusion Prevention Information

Tenable Network Security, Inc., a leading developer of security management solutions, today announced it has joined the Network Associates, Inc. (NYSE:NET) McAfee(R) Intrusion Prevention Solutions Alliance. Through this partner program, the Tenable Lightning(TM) Console integrates alerts from the Network Associates(R) McAfee(R) IntruShield(R) intrusion prevention product.

Lightning allows Tenable's customers to manage multiple security scanners and monitor intrusion detection and prevention devices from a single web console. Lightning automatically correlates IDS events from McAfee IntruShield with an enterprise's known vulnerabilities. Lightning consolidates security information and distributes the information to multiple individuals in multiple organizations to remediate events efficiently. This gives enterprises the ability to deliver reliable and meaningful network security information with significant savings in operational and capital expenses.

McAfee IntruShield provides network-based intrusion prevention that moves beyond traditional detection technology to proactively block both known and unknown attacks against a network. The McAfee IntruShield appliance utilizes a combination of signature and anomaly based detection to scan traffic and assess threat levels at gigabit speeds.
