Zapatista Zapatistas may refer to:
  • The Liberation Army of the South, an important force in the Mexican Revolution (1910–1919), led by Emiliano Zapata. The name Zapatista comes from the name Zapata.
 communities and international supporters celebrated with music and dancing to mark the anniversary of the January 1, 1994, uprising in southern Mexico. The Zapatistas still control dozens of indigenous communities and have recently set up "good government" councils in those areas.
