Ten Tri-State Area Schools to Receive the Second Annual JPMorgan Chase 'Multimedia in the Classroom' Awards, Friday, March 23 at the Celebration of Teaching and Learning.


New Jersey, Connecticut, Long Island, Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens Students and Teachers Recognized for Innovative Classroom Projects

NEW YORK -- Using podcasts, video, animation, flatbed scanners, and other technologies, 10 teams of students and teachers from across the tri-state area have created innovative, multimedia-based projects that enhance learning in the K-12 curriculum. On Friday, March 23, day one of the two-day Celebration of Teaching and Learning, these teams and their schools - from New Jersey, Connecticut, Long Island, Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens - will receive the second annual JPMorgan Chase "Multimedia in the Classroom" Awards and a $1,000 cash prize from JPMorgan Chase, Founding Sponsor of the Celebration of Teaching and Learning.

In addition, the winning teams will receive trophies and full access for 15 teachers and students from each school to the Celebration of Teaching and Learning, a vast, two-day professional development conference for educators in New York City New York City: see New York, city.

* Helen Keller Middle School, Easton, CT: "Earthquakes and the Evolving Earth," - A presentation by sixth-graders that explores the topic of earthquakes, including interactive quizzes.

* Elisabeth Morrow School The Elisabeth Morrow School is a private coeducational day school located in Englewood, New Jersey, serving students in preschool through the eighth grade.
