Telstra Rated Best Provider of IPVPN Services in Gartner Asia-Pacific Survey.

NEW YORK -- Telstra Incorporated, the US subsidiary of the Australian-based, Tier 1 global carrier, Telstra Corporation Limited, announced today that Telstra has been rated the best provider in Asia of IPVPN services according to Gartner, the world's largest IT research and advisory company.

To conduct the End-User Survey**, Gartner interviewed 167 network managers throughout Asia Pacific including those at American and European corporations operating in Asia as well as Asian firms with a significant regional presence. The survey covered 5 key data services and 51% percent of those interviewed have networks connecting 10 or more countries/markets in the region.

"Telstra has increased local support in key markets, improved its processes, and built new support systems to improve its network and service management capabilities."

To also remarked, "The adoption of IP VPN is gaining momentum. An increasing number of large organizations are deploying IP VPNs, with more running mission-critical networks on the technology. Most of the deployments are a migration from frame relay, and to a lesser extent, from ATM and leased lines."

Telstra now has over 200 Multi National Corporation (MNC) customers using its Global IPVPN; comprising blue-chip companies across various industries including finance, technology, manufacturing and logistic sectors.
