Telos to Resell Latest Ultra-Mobile PC from OQO.


ASHBURN, Va. -- Telos Corporation today announced it has signed an agreement with OQO Inc. to sell the OQO model 02 ultra-mobile PC A lightweight, small tablet PC with an on-screen keyboard introduced in 2006. Weighing two pounds or less and using a hard drive for all content, the Ultra-Mobile PC (UMPC) runs under the Windows Tablet PC operating system with Touch Pack software.  (UMPC See Ultra-Mobile PC. ) through several federal government contract vehicles.

The OQO model 02 is a fully featured Windows XP The previous client version of Windows. XP was a major upgrade to the client version of Windows 2000 with numerous changes to the user interface. XP improved support for gaming, digital photography, instant messaging, wireless networking and sharing connections to the Internet.  / Vista[TM] computer that weighs just one pound and is small enough to fit into a pocket. The full-powered PC runs full versions of mission-critical applications with a 1.5GHz processor, 60GB hard disk drive and 1GB of RAM. The OQO model 02 is packaged in an ergonomic form factor and is dockable to create a desktop computing experience. It offers embedded EV-DO (EVolution-Data Only) A 3G high-speed digital data service provided by cellular carriers worldwide that use the CDMA technology, including Verizon and Sprint in the U.S. EV-DO works on EV-DO cellphones as well as laptops and portable devices that have EV-DO modems.  wireless broadband High-speed wireless transmission of data. What is "high" speed is always a changing number. Wireless systems are typically slower than land-based, wireline networks. In the past, wireless broadband started at 250 Kbps, whereas land-based broadband was generally considered to start at T1  capability with service from either Verizon Wireless or Sprint.

Telos is the exclusive reseller for the OQO model 02 across several contract vehicles including the Air Force's NETCENTS NETCENTS Network-Centric Solutions (US Air Force) , Army Netcom BPA BPA British Paediatric Association. , the Bureau of Prisons' BOPNET, and the Defense Manpower Data Center's contract vehicles. In addition, the OQO model 02 is available on Telos' GSA (1) (Global mobile Suppliers Association, Sawbridgeworth, U.K., www.gsacom.com) A membership organization of suppliers of GSM products and services. Its goal is to promote GSM as the worldwide mobile communications standard.
