Telos Technology and LGE Team Up to Build Monet's Data Network-- the First of Its Kind to Deploy CDMA 2000 Technology.

Deployment will result in next-generation wireless Internet access

TELOS Technology, Inc. (www.telostechnology.com), a leading developer of advanced wireless technologies, announced it has joined forces with LG Electronics, Inc. (LGE) (www.lge.com), a leading telecommunication equipment manufacturer, to build North America's first data-only, CDMA2000, next-generation wireless network for Monet Mobile Networks, Inc. (www.monetmobile.com).

Operating on licensed spectrum in the PCS frequency band, Monet's CDMA2000 network uses LGE's Radio Access Network (RAN) and Packet Data Serving Node (PDSN), supported by the TELOS wireless Softswitch, the Sonata SE(TM). The Sonata SE(TM) handles subscriber validation through the CDMA mobility network, and, in conjunction with the PDSN, provides handoff support. The Sonata SE is also responsible for resource allocation, making sure that sufficient resources are available between the subscriber and the core IP network.

Testing and installation of the system are now complete. Monet Mobile Networks launched its next generation data service network to residential and business customers in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in October 2001 - the first regional carrier to do so in the United States.
