Tellus Venture Associates Formed; Offers Research and Analysis Services to Satellite and High Technology Industries.
MARINA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 9, 1997--Steve Blum has formed Tellus Venture Associates, a consultancy focusing on market research and analysis, business plan development, and new venture evaluation for the digital Direct Broadcast Satellite industry, worldwide.
Located in the Monterey Bay Education, Science and Technology Center, Tellus Venture Associates will also offer a wide range of services to companies in some of the newly developing sectors of the satellite communications industry, particularly those that involve advanced technology applications for global digital communications services.
Formerly president and 50 percent owner of The Carmel Group, Blum has split off this consulting practice so that the two companies can better pursue their respective lines of business.
While a principal of The Carmel Group, Blum built a well respected, results oriented consulting practice that served some of the largest and most prestigious firms in the satellite, computer, telecommunications and consumer electronics industries, as well as working with new high technology and television programming start-ups.
Prior to investing in The Carmel Group, Blum was with U.S. Satellite Broadcasting, where, as an early member of the start-up team and a consumer marketing executive, he played a key role in the development, launch and growth of the Digital Satellite System (DSS (1) (Digital Signature Standard) A National Security Administration standard for authenticating an electronic message.
