Telik, Inc. (Nasdaq: TELK) announced today the appointment of Stephen K. Carter, M.D., to its Scientific Advisory Board to assist in cancer drug development programs. Dr. Carter has served as Senior Vice President of Sugen Inc. since 1997. From 1995 to 1996 he served as Senior Vice-President of Research and Development at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. From 1982 to 1995, Dr. Carter served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Clinical Research and Development for Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. Dr. Carter received his M.D. from the New York Medical College New York Medical College is a center for graduate medical education located in Westchester County, a suburb half an hour north of New York City. This private university comprises the School of Medicine, which grants the M.D. .
