Telewest Adopts Intergraph's GeoSpatial Network Management Solution; Partnership Provides Single Solution Tailored for Telewest's Network Asset Management Needs.

The Communications Solutions division of Intergraph Corporation (Nasdaq: INGR) today announced that Telewest Communications, one of Britain's leading providers of cable telecommunications and television services for homes and businesses, has adopted Intergraph's GeoSpatial Network Resource Management solutions to meet its corporate asset network management needs, including planning and design.

Working in partnership with a Telewest project team, Intergraph will supply software and services to bring together data from a number of legacy systems into a single, technical and commercial solution.

The solution relies on Intergraph's template-based geospatial network design and management solution, customized to meet Telewest's particular needs. It covers five levels encompassing the fiber network, civil network, copper network, co-axial network and power.

Telewest Project Manager Owen Collins commented: "We want to pull together five different legacy systems, acquired over the years, into a single, coherent, technical and commercial solution. Designing, planning, constructing and maintaining a national network throws up regional differences relating to issues such as cost. Until now, it has been difficult to get a national overview because of disparate systems. The Intergraph solution will enable us to take all the basic geospatial network data and build a single, corporate system that will allow us to publish all our spatial data throughout the company."

The project will be implemented in two phases. Phase One will be a 12-month roll out of an integrated solution to existing users based upon existing functionality. Phase One will also involve data migration.

In Phase Two the system will be Web-enabled and integrated with customer management systems. That process will take about two years, after which there are plans to continue developing and expanding the functionality of Telewest's system within Intergraph's GeoSpatial Resource Management environment.
