Telephonics Corporation Supplies Its Advanced APS-143C(V)3 Radar System for the EADS-CASA CN-235 Persuader MPA in Support of the SASEMAR (Spanish Maritime Safety Agency) Program.

), announced today they have received a contract award valued at $3.4M from the Military Transport Aircraft Division of EADS-CASA (Madrid, Spain) for the supply of 3 ship sets of its advanced APS-143C(V)3 Maritime Surveillance Radar with options for initial spares and in-service support for the Spanish Maritime Safety Agency (SASEMAR). The first system will be delivered in September 2006.

This high performance version of Telephonics' APS-143 radar, designated as APS-143C(V)3, was selected as well by the U.S. Coast Guard for the Integrated Deepwater System (IDS) Program earlier this year. The APS-143 radar will be integrated on the FITS (Fully Integrated Tactical System), mission system designed and developed by EADS-CASA, and it will be a major element of the CN-235 Maritime Patrol Maritime patrol is the task of monitoring areas of water. Generally conducted by military and law enforcement agencies, maritime patrol is usually aimed at identifying human activities.  Aircraft, playing a key role in fulfilling the demanding maritime search & rescue and surveillance mission requirements. The high end performance and reliability of the APS-143C(V)3 radar ensures that SASEMAR will receive an operationally superior and cost effective solution for their mission needs.

With its open systems architecture configuration, various versions of the APS-143 multi-mode radar are currently deployed on numerous rotary and fixed wing platforms meeting a variety of missions.

Work on this program will be performed at the Telephonics facilities in Farmingdale, New York Farmingdale is a village in Nassau County, New York in the United States. The population was 8,399 at the 2000 census.

The 'Village of Farmingdale is inside the Town of Oyster Bay. Farmingdale School District includes parts of both Nassau County and Suffolk County.
